Great post,

Ive been having quite a few conversations recently about "your brand" however i`m really cautious not to over use the term
"brand" as the market sector i predominantly work within are fiercely proud of there independence from what they perceive a brand is-a big multinational company.

Elements i focus on for building a branded "social" image are
"local is global" a "sense of place" and to be proud of where you are from, understand who you are, what you are, your identity, your people, your personality, and of course clearly understanding your product.

Once all that is in place your in a great place to develop a unique brand, and of course start shouting about it to the world-in my case preferably using social media.

good post

I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is making emails too long. Keep it short and friendly and more people will read and respond. Instead of a newsletter with a bunch of topics, I usually limit it to one idea with a link to a landing page with more info if necessary.

Asking questions is a good way to engage as well.
